Convert WebP to PNG
This tool writes a WebP image into a PNG file. PNG is the format that every program and every workflow accepts, and it keeps the transparency a WebP may carry, which makes it the right stop before editing or handing a picture on. The conversion runs in your browser, and your image is never uploaded.

WebP, up to 50 MB
How it works
- 1 Choose a WebP file.
- 2 GRID16 writes the image as a PNG in your browser.
- 3 Download the PNG.
Questions
- Does transparency survive?
- Yes. Both formats store an alpha channel, so a transparent area stays transparent.
- Why is there no quality setting?
- PNG keeps every pixel, so there is nothing to set. What the WebP already lost stays lost, but nothing further is discarded.
- Will the file get bigger?
- Usually yes, and often by a lot. PNG stores pixels without lossy compression, which is the point of the format and the price of it.
- Is my image uploaded to a server?
- No. The conversion happens in your browser; the file never leaves your device.
