Convert JPG to PNG
This tool writes a JPG image into a PNG file, in your browser. It is worth being clear about what that does and does not do: PNG stores every pixel exactly from now on, but a JPG has already thrown detail away, and no format can put it back. Convert when something in your workflow insists on PNG, not in the hope of a better picture.

Questions
- Does converting to PNG improve the image?
- No. A JPG has already discarded detail, and PNG cannot bring it back. You get the same picture in a lossless container, usually in a noticeably larger file.
- Why is there no quality setting?
- PNG keeps every pixel exactly, so there is nothing to trade away. The file size follows from the picture, not from a setting.
- What happens to the camera data?
- It does not come along. The image is decoded and written anew, so the PNG holds pixels only, without the camera model or a GPS position.
- Is my image uploaded to a server?
- No. The conversion happens in your browser; the file never leaves your device.
