How it works

Questions

Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, and the JPG never leaves your device.
Will the quality drop?
WebP uses lossy compression here, the same way JPG does. The quality slider starts at 90; lower it for a smaller file, raise it for more detail.
What is the size limit?
Each file can be up to 50 MB and up to 50 megapixels, though very large images may exceed what your browser can decode.
Does the WebP file keep transparency?
A JPG has no transparency to begin with, so the WebP file will not have any either.
