How it works
- 1 Choose one or more WebP files.
- 2 Arrange them in the order the pages should follow, and set page size, orientation and margin if the default does not fit.
- 3 GRID16 builds the PDF in your browser, one page per image.
- 4 Download the PDF.
Questions
- Is the image re-encoded?
- Yes, once. A PDF can only carry JPEG and PNG, so each WebP image is decoded and written as JPEG at quality 90, or as PNG when it has transparent pixels. That is also why the PDF is often larger than the WebP files together.
- What happens to transparent areas?
- An image with transparent pixels goes into the PDF as PNG, with its alpha channel. A PDF page has no background of its own and is white, so a transparent area shows as white paper and prints that way.
- How many images fit into one PDF?
- Up to 30 files per job, each up to 50 MB and 100 MB together, and up to 2000 pages in the finished document.
- Is my image uploaded to a server?
- No. The PDF is built in your browser; the files never leave your device.
