At the same visible quality a WebP file is usually smaller than a JPG, so the page loads faster, and every current browser displays it. How it works
- 1 Choose a PDF file.
- 2 Set the resolution in DPI, and the quality if you want smaller or sharper images. The default is 150 DPI at quality 85.
- 3 GRID16 renders the pages as WebP images in your browser.
- 4 Download the images.
Questions
- Why WebP rather than JPG?
- On a website, WebP usually fits the same picture into a smaller file, and smaller images make a page load faster. Outside the browser more programs still open JPG, so choose PDF to JPG when the image leaves the web.
- Which resolution should I choose?
- Between 72 and 300 DPI, 150 by default. For a web page 150 is usually plenty; a higher DPI means a larger image and a longer run.
- Why does a very long page fail?
- A WebP image can be at most 16383 pixels on each side. A tall page at a high resolution goes past that; choose a lower resolution and it fits.
- How many pages can I convert?
- Up to 100 pages in one job, from a file of up to 50 MB.
- Is my document uploaded to a server?
- No. Rendering happens in your browser; the file never leaves your device.
