Generate a QR code for a contact card
This tool turns a name and contact details into a QR code. A phone's camera reads it as a vCard, the standard format for contact cards, and offers to save it directly: no typing a phone number from a business card or a poster. It carries a name, organization, job title, phone number, e-mail and website; a postal address is not part of this card. It runs in your browser, so the details are never uploaded.

How it works
- 1 Enter a first or last name; at least one is required.
- 2 Add an organization, job title, phone, e-mail and website if you have them.
- 3 Choose the error correction level if medium is not what you need.
- 4 Download the PNG.
Questions
- What does the code contain?
- A vCard 3.0, the standard format contacts apps read: name, organization, job title, phone number, e-mail and website, whichever of these you filled in. There is no postal address field.
- Do I need to fill in every field?
- No. Only a first or last name is required. Everything else is included only when you fill it in.
- What happens when the code is scanned?
- The phone's camera recognises it as a contact card and offers to save it directly into the contacts app, with every field you filled in already in place.
- Does my contact information reach a server?
- No. The code is generated in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded.
