Generate a QR code for a URL
This tool turns a web address into a QR code and hands you a PNG. Paste a link and the code holds exactly that link, with no redirect through another domain and no shortener in between. Leave off the scheme and GRID16 adds https:// for you, so the code still opens correctly. It is generated in your browser, so the address you type is never uploaded.

How it works

Questions
- Does the code point to GRID16?
- No. It contains exactly the link you typed, with https:// added if you left off the scheme. Nothing routes through another domain first.
- What happens if I paste a link without https://?
- GRID16 adds it for you, because a scanner only offers to open a link that carries a scheme. example.com becomes https://example.com.
- Does my link reach a server?
- No. The code is generated in your browser, so the address never leaves your device.
- What does the error correction level do?
- It decides how much of the code may be damaged and still scan. A link is short, so even the highest level keeps the pattern easy to print small.
