Convert MOV to MP4

This tool turns an iPhone MOV into an MP4 that plays wherever Windows expects one, in your browser. Nothing is decoded or encoded: the video and sound tracks are copied into a new container, so the video is never uploaded and the quality stays exactly what it was. HEVC video stays HEVC, so an older Windows PC may need Microsoft's HEVC Video Extensions to play it; location and other metadata are removed. A MOV whose video or sound needs re-encoding, such as ProRes video or PCM sound, is refused instead of silently converted. Compress video re-encodes those.

Questions

Is my video uploaded?
No. The video stays on your device: its tracks are copied into an MP4 in your browser.
What are the limits?
Up to 500 MB, free of charge.
Does this reduce the quality?
No. Nothing is decoded or re-encoded: the video and sound are copied exactly as they were, into a new container.
Will an HEVC video still play afterwards?
Yes, as HEVC. An older Windows PC may need Microsoft's HEVC Video Extensions to play it.
What happens to location and other metadata?
It is removed, the same as GRID16's other video and audio tools.
What if my MOV cannot be converted?
A MOV whose video or sound needs re-encoding, such as ProRes video or PCM sound, is refused with a reason. Use Compress video instead, which re-encodes it to MP4.
